There have been many stories about driving anxiety and the trouble it causes for many people. In most instances, young and elderly female drivers are most possibly to suffer from this mental problem, though male drivers may suffer from the disorder as well. An individual who undergoes from this kind of phobia may think illogically while he or she is riding in a car — some car drivers are unable to drive at the proper speed or will unknowlingly release their hold on the steering wheel when a speeding automobile comes near them from the opposite lane. Let Go Of Useless Anxiety

Given the state of the world today, it’s more important than ever that we all learn how to manage stress and uncertainly. Despite misguided opinion to the contrary, worry does you no good.  In fact, worry reduces our ability to function well.

Worry is imagining future unpleasant or unwanted outcomes as if they already happened.  When we do that, we ruin a perfectly good present reality by dwelling on an imaginary possible future.  Done regularly, worrying distorts a person’s view of realtiy.  They see things through a cloudy lense.

The good news is, how much we spend our time in anxious thinking is up to us – although some would have you believe otherwise.

Too many people think whether or not they worry depends on outside events.  They carry the belief that worry is their only possible way to react to an unpleasant external event.  As a result they have no control over it.

Many people believe that worry serves a useful purpose.

The more we look, the clearer it becomes that there are many such fallicies in circulation.

So to begin freeing yourself from destructive worry, you have to consider your assumptions concerning the role worry plays in your life.  Why are you doing it?  Do you think it’s a productive use of time?  There has to be some percieved benefit for you to worry.  If you don’t identify it, it will be harder to stop worrying.

As I mentioned, some people think that spending time worrying is unavoidable and useful. These people believe if they worry they’re being mature.  They consider optomists “Pollyannas” and somehow not as responsible as they are.

None of that is true.

Worrying is actually a poor use of time.  Rather than being a way to, it keeps you stuck in the problem.  The mature approach is to focus on the problem only long enough to clearly define it, then focus on working on finding the best response.

Another excuse people have to engage in worry is that they believe that it’s somehow protective.  Bad things won’t happen if they worry about them.

Let’s face it, that belief borders on superstition.  Rather than provide a solution, worry keeps you finding workable solutions. Worry fills a mind with bad possble outcomes that most likely will never happen.

As you consider your beliefs about worry youll likely come to the conclusion you’d be better off if you did less of it.  It’s my belief that society would be more productive if we spent less time worrying and more time imagining a brighter future.
